Diaw vs Banks

Which of our two expensive and dissapointing players from last year, step up the most this year?

Will it be Diaw with his versatility and court vision, or Banks with his quickness and defensive prowess?

I think Diaw is going to have a pretty good year this season, all of those minutes K.Thomas played are going to have to be replaced by someone, I think Diaw will pick up a most of them.

Re: Diaw vs Banks

Diaw's versatility, and how well he played the season Stoudemire was out will earn him more playing time, thus giving him more time to prove himself. Banks, on the otherhand, will play in a backcourt where he gets playing time behind Nash/Barbosa, and therefore, is unlikely to get much time to prove himself.

I don't see either player stepping up much, but I assume Diaw will play a bigger role in the teams wins--and losses--than Banks, because he'll have the opportunity to do so.

Of course, Banks I think may get more PT than last year, but I still don't see how he could have a huge impact given who he's playing behind. I do think Banks will play better than last year though, but he really did walk into the wrong situation. I assume he knew from the start he would get limited time to play, I guess he really wanted to learn from the Suns, or Nash.

Re: Diaw vs Banks

Now that Kurt Thomas is gone, Diaw is really going to have to step up. I'm confident that he will bounce back from his terrible season last year. I'm expecting Diaw around 11, 5, 5. Pretty much the same stats that won him MIP two years ago.

We need to get Diaw more aggressive! He has the skills, now he needs the mindset.
