Skinner Works Out For Suns

Skinner Works Out For Suns
September 21, 2007 - 12:58 am
Arizona Republic -
The Suns are closer to completing their training camp roster, turning their focus to free-agent big men Esteban Batista, Brian Skinner and Vitaly Potapenko and inviting free-agent swingmen Richie Frahm and Rawle Marshall to camp.
Skinner worked out for the Suns on Thursday with a group that included some Suns players and free agents such as Maurice Taylor, Frahm and Marshall.
Assuming they don't get a surprise call from veteran free agent P.J. Brown, the Suns are considering adding two big men to the Oct. 2-7 camp in Tucson. The Suns, who must add at least one player to their roster, have competition on all three free-agent big men.
But Skinner has not worked out for another team.
"This is the top of my list," he said. "It's a championship ballclub."

Re: Skinner Works Out For Suns
Suns should sign Skinner, screw Brown. Skinner could do what PJ would do for us, and that's mainly be a big body and hit the occasional open jumpshot.

Agreed. I too have the "screw brown" mentality. How long does it seriously take to make up your mind if you want to play or not?

Take Skinner, and be done with it. If Brown wants to sign with us. Put him in D-League.

lol he'd just have to pretend to be 15 years younger and change his name, and he'll fit right in.

Re: Skinner Works Out For Suns
Skinner is prolly the most talented F/C that we can get right now. And he gets a block a game, is his defense good? We dont have a better option, so do it.
And hes only 31 years old. Brown is wat, 38 or 40 or something
