Suns 3rd in Marc Stein's Training Camp Power Rankings
2007-08 Power Rankings: Training Camp

(3) A trade demand on the eve of camp from someone of Marion's stature would normally lead to a bigger rankings slide. But Phoenix has years of practice dealing with (and winning in spite of) a mopey Matrix.

Ya I luaghed when I saw Boston in at #2. But guess he had to do it with the trades they pulled off.

let me just state that i feel that this foxsports ranking is rediculous in almost every way.
non the less, again you see the celtics at 2 and suns at 3? i dont understand that without proof these players will mesh well with eachother they can justify this...?

Boston is going to be very much improved but #2?...Boston did a lot in getting Allen and KG and will be contenders in the East..Don't forget that Pierce, Allen and KG have all been injury prone the past few years and they just need to worry about winning thae Atlantic division...
Another thing I found funny was the Rockets getting the #4...
I'll come out with my power rankings before the season starts...

Well, concerning the rockets, they obtained a starting PF in Luis Scolia (MVP of the FIBA tournament), they added Mike James and Francis back to their roster (I think both still have serious game in them, last year was an aberration for both). Not to mention they added Rick Adleman as a coach, someone who I think is always a top-5 coach in the NBA (along with Sloan, Jackson, Dunleavy and D'Antoni...maybe Nelson and Karl push for this ranking too). I think that Bonzi Wells will return to form and he'll prove to be an excellent spark filling in at SG/SF for McGrady and Battier.
They have a championship caliber team now. It depends on health and how much players step up.
Francis/James/Alston/JL3
McGrady/Wells/Head
Battier/Wells/Snyder
Scolia/Hayes
Yao/Mutombo/Butler
That lineup is not only deep but extremely talented. When Yao was injured, Deke held his own, and Bonzi is a capable starter as he proved only a year ago in Sacramento (when he started above Martin and Adleman was coaching).
It's a very potent team. Texas has some talent.

Come on, give Pops and Riles thier due! Dunleavy isn't a great coach. Adelman is a phenomenal coach and will open up the Rockets team to keep a great defense and couple that with a top notch offense, that spells a lot of wins. Especially since this Rockets team is probably the deepest team in the league, you won't have to worry about huge talent drop offs in resting your stars.
I agree that Boston is overrated unless KG, Allen, and Pierce play 48 minutes a game and play 82 games.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time... like tears in rain....

Rockets have to prove to me they can win a playoff series, before they're serious contenders for a title. Most teams have deep playoff runs before they take that next step.

That wasn't by foxsports itself, just a community member... So basically it's like one of us posting our rankings in our own blog and then having ppl go "wtf?"
