Nash: "Suns are better and deeper"

Quote:
As always, he’s polite about it. But Steve Nash would still rather not talk about it. More than five months later, the pain and frustration is still there, still raw, masked only by the promise of another season and another opportunity to make things right.

But think about it? How can Nash not mentally return to last year’s epic playoff series with San Antonio, replay the plot twists and turns worthy of a Hollywood blockbuster?

How can he not think about his nose that wouldn’t stop bleeding in Game 1? The rogue referee who was holding the whistle in Game 3? Robert Horry’s hip-check that sent him flying into the scorer’s table in Game 4, which started the dominoes toward two back-breaking suspensions in Game 5?

Even if he wanted to forget, every trip down the street in his summer home of New York City turned into a walk down memory lane.

“It’s New York. A thousand people a day, at least, came up and said 'You guys got robbed,’ ” he said. “You don’t know what to say. Do you say 'Thanks?’ I guess they think they’re helping, but you really don’t want to go there.”

He’ll turn 34 in February, but Nash still feels and sounds and looks like a player at the peak of his production. But after watching the Spurs lose only one more game after eliminating Phoenix while rolling to another championship, will Nash and the Suns ever have a better chance to break through themselves?

You know.. There might be some truth to this but then I have this unsettling feeling in my bowels and let me explain...

We traded Kurt Thomas and two picks to Seattle and got a trade exemption in this deal...

I have to admit that I was pissed off about this trade but something tells me were going to do something before the trading deadline...

Marcus Camby or Ron Artest in a Suns uniform???

I'll just stand back and watch...

Not happening, at least, not with that trade exception. We got rid of that contract for a reason... and it's because they didn't want to pay luxury tax.

'Course, it would be great if we *did* use the TE... but we won't.

I know you're probably right but I'm hoping were both wrong....

How can we possibly expect to take on Tim Duncan in the playoffs when our two top defenders against him will be Diaw and Skinner?

Sarver is a business man but is also a strong supporter of the Phoenix Suns unlike other owners who don't give a crap about their team...

I'll put my money saying the Suns make a strong move before the trading deadline...

Re: Nash: "Suns are better and deeper"

We win when Parker and Ginobili don't score 20+. We gots to stop them. last year we couldn't rest Nash because Diaw can't playmake like Nash(Hill can help in that regard) and Barbosa was injured. If he had hit his shots like he normally does, we would have beaten them in a walk. No one seems to rememeber that Barbosa shouldn't have played in that series. If healthy, the Suns will destroy the Spurs. They were better than them last year, and are better this year. Just as long as no unforseen injuries occur. Amare>Duncan IMO. Nash>Parker. Marion>Ginobili. Bell>Bowen. Diaw=Elson. It comes down to Barbosa, Hill, and Marks/Skinner to pull through. If Barbosa didn't shoot 26-76(34%) and 2-17(12%) from 3pt land in that series, we would have won. Just look at his production through the series, you can tell that his elbow was getting worse each game. The Suns didn't lost when Duncan scored 20-30 points. They lost when Parker or Ginobili did as well. The additions of Hill and Strawberry along with hopefully the development of Banks will help to curtail that.

Barbosa
FG (3pt FG)
Game 1: 7-17 (1-2) L
Game 2: 6-13 (1-3) W
Game 3: 2-6 (0-2) L
Game 4: 4-13 (0-4) W
Game 5: 3-12 (0-1) L
Game 6: 5-15 (0-5) L
