JJ over the last six games..
17.2ppg, 3.8apg, 4.3rpg, 44%fg's.
I really wish he would get to the basket more, but he has really been playing a lot better offensively recently. His jumpshot is very smooth, he has a lot of tools to become a potent offensive threat.. the question is - do we want him to be? With M&M and Amare, do we really need a two guard who takes 15 shots a game?
I love JJ and I think he can become a great player in the league one day (he's still just 22 1/2), but it seems to me we'd be better served by getting a hustle-type two guard who plays hardnose D and does some dirty work.
I mean Joe has scored in double digits in each of the last 9 games, yet we're 2-7. A lot of that is not having Amare, but Joe is playing as well as ever and we're still getting smoked.. I know we have more problems, but to me there are much better fits for this team than Johnson. Even guys like Jon Barry, Kendall Gill, Raja Bell come to mind.. you know, roleplayers.. we don't have good ones aside from maybe Voskuhl and Zarko, and to an extent Penny.
What do you guys think of JJ/his future with this team?

Hey, I got a chance to watch the Suns Vs the Blazers last week in HK, I found that Joe Johnson had became a better off-ball player at least in the game. Seriously, if Suns really want to build a team around Marbury and Amare, yes, I agree that u should get a guy plays with hustle, energy and has a shooting stroke.
Joe Johnson isnt and never will be able to play as a playmaker in the NBA level effetcively, I meant his playmaking skills will get him where people always look, STATS but no way he can win games as our first option guy because players that need the ball in their hands only to be effective cant play agreat second option anywhere for a great team. Joe, is a cheap version of Leborn James who can do everything great, but Joe himself can do everything good only. He might himself a superstar playing overseas, get rings and **** but while he is trying to idolize what Penny Hardaway did when in his prime and now, his smarts and intangibles just wont be there like Hardaway.
I do understand the pressure the every coach for the Suns has/had not to play Penny as our focal point on the offense but Marbury. The coaches probably know that Penny could just run the team as effective or even better than Marbury but it's just so much pressure not to play the youngs and hard to face the managment and the city there.
Joe Johnson, Stephon Marbury, Amare, and Marion are group of exrtremely overrated players, we will be at best make it to the second round once or twice in their prime year, but will neve rbe able to win a thing!

Penny is crap. Even if he is on offensively it is almost worthless as he sucks defensively every game.
They just need to get JJ the ball more when he is on and less when he is off.
I see JJ getting more and more comfortable.

I assume that by your name you are a Suns fan, and you say this about someone on your team?
JJ has improved very much this year under close scrutiny, and I think he is only going to get better.

That really is a pretty good statline.. if he can keep up his shooting when Amare (and Zarko) comes back, could we steamroll into the 7th/8th seed? Seattle has Allen back, they might start picking it up.. but Portland can't win on the road, I have a hard time believing Denver and Utah will keep going at their pace, Memphis could be tough.. they are a very solid ballclub..
Right now Utah and Memphis are tied for the 8th seed, and we're 5 1/2 games behind them.. it's a ways but we can definitely gain ground on those guys.. when we're healthy we're better than both of them.
