Goes about like this:

Knicks keep it if it's in the top 25 in 2005, top 24 in 2006, top 23 in 2007, top 22 in 2008, etc.. catch is, the Knicks have to give it up by 2010 and by then it's unprotected.

That's some heavy protection, but.. future first for Otis Thorpe anyone?

heh good comparision... hey maybe 2010 is a little too far for me to think of. When is OJ Mayo elgible for the draft? I think he may be the solution to the Suns SG problem.

I'm sure in 1997 when the Pistons traded Thorpe for a future first they were thinking the same thing.. and 2010 should be right around the time when NY might finally be going into rebuilding mode, if I'm not mistaken.
