who would you rather have?? I know they play different positions but both have proved to be terrific 2nd options... so who would you rather have as the 2nd option to a superstar???
It depends on your primary star (Lewis is perfect for Howard like Gasol is for Kobe) but I give Gasol the edge cuz he is a big man but its close and Lewis has outplayed him in the playoffs so far...

I'd rather take Pau, simply because he's a bigger body that can log minutes at the 5. He's a better rebounder, better in the post, and has just as pretty of a jumpshot. They are both pretty solid free throw shooters if I remember correctly.
Lewis gives you a nice mismatch because of his range if you have somebody that isn't able to extend on him. He's a nice pairing for somebody like Dwight Howard who doesn't have any game outside of 10 feet. However, Pau's skillset is more valuable more often.

Gasol is one of my least favourite players in the whole league, but I would take Gasol over Lewis.
It's close though

I have a love / hate relationship with Rashard Lewis. He's can't guard 3's defensively, and he can't rebound at the 4. He's really only effective when Turkoglu and Howard are on to allow him to get open, because when the D can play him straightup he's not going to have a good night.
I'd take Gasol rather easily.

Did you really just say you would possibly consider Rashard Lewis to be a shooting guard? Come on man.
I like what Lewis brings to the table, and he can play the four in the right situation. Next to a player like Dwight Howard, Lewis can play his game because Howard is a defensive anchor and a rebounding machine. Lewis will force defenses to extend on him, which also helps to free up some space in the lane.
He's not a traditional 4, but he is more than capable. He's clutch as hell too. It's also very nice to have a big guy that can consistantly hit his free throws.
Shard is a great player, but I'll take Pau on my team.
