GOP Presidential Candidate

Who does everyone thing think is going to wind up being their candidate? I myself am not totally sold on Gingrich, but would they put Romney someone who is not quite so far to right and is a Mormon - lets face facts, too many people base their votes on religion - on the ballot?

Discuss.

Re: GOP Presidential Candidate

If Romney were Catholic or Baptist he'd be far and away the number 1 candidate.

Personally I think it should be Romney, but being Mormon hurts him.

Re: GOP Presidential Candidate

If they nominate anyone other than Romney they're going to get a massive wake-up call in November. Right wingers are so convinced that the entire country hates Obama and thinks he's a Black Panther Socialist that they might **** themselves.

Gingrich and Romney both suck, I'll be voting 3rd party.

Re: GOP Presidential Candidate

This is what I think of Rick Perry's 'Strong' video.

Quote:
I'm not ashamed to say that I won't be voting for Rick Perry, but you don't have to tune in to CNN every evening to know that there's something wrong in this country when politicians can openly spew homophobic, unconstitutional rhetoric and still garner support. As citizens, let's end Perry's war on reason and tolerance, and fight against radical conservative attacks on our secular heritage. Separation of church and state made America strong, it can make her strong again.

Re: GOP Presidential Candidate

That's a great idea! Let's give tax money to private companies! They'll provide the same services as medicare!

Re: GOP Presidential Candidate

Companies totally supply products and create new jobs when there is no additional demand. More tax cuts should do that...

Re: GOP Presidential Candidate

Gingrich seems to be the flavor of the month. No matter who wins, they're still losing to Obama next November anyway, so it really doesn't matter.

If Newt doesn't cut his own throat, he will win Iowa, come second in NH, win SC, and then put Mitt out of his misery in FL.

Re: GOP Presidential Candidate

It's going broke because of Part D which is a privitization of the pharmaceutical aspect of Medicare, a completely unfunded benefit.

Re: GOP Presidential Candidate

Maybe we should just guarantee healthcare to all our citizens and stop being the nation that spends the highest proportion of GDP on healthcare while reaping none of the benefits. But health industry profits made on the back of denying coverage to the sick its totally worth the extra cost.

Re: GOP Presidential Candidate

What our country needs to do is implement methods of cost control for healthcare.
