How many morons are the Republicans trying to put in the Senate this year?

I was going to put this in the Missouri 'Legitimate Rape' Republican moron thread, but then I thought that stupidity on this scale deserved it's own thread. Maybe he's really a brilliant double-agent from the Dems. Of course he says "he was sorry if his words were “misinterpreted” by those looking for political gain"

Quote:
A SENATE candidate’s claim that a pregnancy caused by rape is “something God intended” touched off an uproar Wednesday that threatens to complicate Mitt Romney’s chances of winning the White House.
Richard Mourdock, the Republican nominee for Senate in Indiana, made the remark during a debate Tuesday night, trying to explain why he opposes all abortions, including those to end pregnancies resulting from rape or incest.
“I’ve struggled with it myself for a long time, but I came to realize that life is that gift from God,” Mourdock said.
“And even when life begins in that horrible situation of rape, that it is something that God intended to happen.”

You probably don't want to look into how many Congressmen think the earth is 9000 years old.

http://religion.blogs.cnn.com/2012/1...e-pit-of-hell/

That guy also serves on the House Committee for Science, Space and Technology.

From the article:

“All that stuff I was taught about evolution, embryology, the Big Bang theory, all that is lies straight from the pit of hell,” U.S Rep. Paul Broun said in an address last month at a banquet organized by Liberty Baptist Church in Hartwell, Georgia. “And it’s lies to try to keep me and all the folks who were taught that from understanding that they need a savior.”

..he treads even further:

“I don’t believe that the Earth’s but about 9,000 years old,” Broun said in the speech, which Liberty Baptist Church posted on its website via YouTube. “I believe it was created in six days as we know them. That’s what the Bible says."

You'd think a Congress critter could at least squeeze the main section of the Washington Post into their daily routine.
