And cut the psychobabble. We both know you are not going to change your mind no matter what I say and I don't really need to explain myself to you. I could care less if your feelings are hurt over my insulting of Obama.

Re: And the Winner is...
Does anyone really dispute that the Auto bailout was a success? Aren't those industries doing much better now - and haven't they already paid back the money they were given?

Re: And the Winner is...
Given that GM is heading into bankruptcy again? I'd call it an abject failure (and was bound to be so from the moment that Bush started the process)

Re: And the Winner is...
GM owes about 35 Billion I'd guess and AIG owes a quarter of their TARP money. Rest of it was paid back. That sum is vanishingly small in comparison to the cost of an economic collapse. Is that not true?

Careful you might hurt Obama's feelings.

Re: And the Winner is...
Paid back with funds the financial service sector got from the fed by dumping their toxic mortgages on them. Meaning that ultimately they "paid the government back" with money they got from the government. A resounding success. (And GM will be heading back into bankruptcy court soon now that the election's past.)

Re: And the Winner is...
I did not say anything about what they paid back. I asked if 50 billion dollars, which is now equity in those two companies would be too large a price to avoid an economic collapse. It's an easy enough question. Proceed to dance around it like you were running for office.

Re: And the Winner is...
The dancer here is you, because for one the price ain't $50 billion (given that the financial service sector has shoveled a couple of trillion in bad debt on the fed). And two, one of those companies is on life support. And is headed right back for bankruptcy. God willing they don't save it this time and let it get carved up by companies with better mismanagement.
