Aaaaannnndddd now they come crawling out of the woodwork!
Cretin Interviewed Quote:
"The assassination part is kind of harsh." Ya think? She reminds me of a line in a Reacher novel I recently read, in reference to doctors classifying certain patients. It goes like this: Quote:

Re: Woman fired after Obama Facebook post: 'I'm not racist'
while what she said is despicable I am against companies firing people over internet posts. It's one thing if she's organizing something evil, it was just some dumb spur of the moment facebook post.

I can see why they do it though. Even though you may not be at work, you are an employee of the company and should be a good representation of the company's image.

Yea, racism and talking about how assassination would be a good thing is no big deal.

Again, I'm not saying what she did was right, but it's not something that should cost her her livelihood. Theres a good chance that she might not get another job afterwards because of all this scrutiny. It's way overboard imo. Especially when you consider that the whole thing was a revenge ploy set up by her ex-boyfriend trying to ruin her life. |

One can only imagine if the NAACP tells its membership (which, last I checked, numbers over half a million) to boycott Cold Stone Creamery. If you watched the video, you know they gave them high praise for acting so quickly. What do you think would have happened if they hadn't? You got that right. And Cold Stone's stock would be plummeting come Tuesday morning. Given the public's sensitivity over such matters, this is a no-brainer on the part of CSC.

That's because you're a child who thinks grown adults shouldn't have to be responsible for themselves.

Re: Woman fired after Obama Facebook post: 'I'm not racist'
apparently there were already organized protests - not sure how the link was made between her and her job though
also did anyone notice the difference between her facebook picture and her reality? 'it's me, but like 40 lbs ago' |

Re: Woman fired after Obama Facebook post: 'I'm not racist'
Two very simple thoughts on this:
A) she's an idiot B) firing her for being an idiot is still objectionable, and I wouldn't be surprised if she was able to sue Coldstone successfully.

Re: Woman fired after Obama Facebook post: 'I'm not racist'
If you've ever worked for a Fortune or multinational corporation, you've likely been through an onboarding process regarding diversity training, etc. You could presume that she has coworker friends on Facebook or co-workers that became aware of it since it went viral and those co-workers would now think Cold Stone turned a blind eye to a potentially damaging work atmosphere. Companies will do what they need to in order to avoid lawsuit and save public face.
