Store owner Cope Reynolds told The Huffington Post in a telephone interview Friday that the ad, which cost roughly $250, has "little to do with gun control."

"It is about the direction that this country is going and the direction it's been going for the last four years, and I feel like the people that voted for him are by and large the ones that are on the many entitlements and free stuff that they've been getting," Reynolds said.

He added: "If someone really believes that this country can get any stronger and do any better under the leadership of Barack Obama, then I don't feel like they're responsible enough to own a gun."

Reynolds said he's gotten a tremendous amount of support in response to the ad, which KPHO reported on Friday. He said some people had made the five-hour drive from Tucson to his shop in order "to shake our hand, get a picture," before returning home.

I won't say it doesn't bother me, but you are right, they are idiots.

At the very least its refreshing that these days most of the time you see a racist, they're hillbillies and not well spoken educated people.

I voted for Obama, but I didn't get any "free stuff."

Far from ignorant. IMO this is very intelligent.

Say you had the numbers on liberal gun-range hobbyists vs conservative ones in Arizona. You know which number is higher. What better way to get them to show up by pandering to their beliefs?

The article said people have made a 5 hr drive just to come to his store. He's already broadened his customer base. He might even be able to build an Obama-hating community in there; hold these 'political club meetings' and sell memberships...have his own little GOP convention in his store. Merchandize the shit. Possibilities are there, and sales are going up.

there was a similar uptick in gun and ammo buying in 09 and amazingly no significant legislation to follow (nor likely ever intended) despite all the fear mongering - but idiots are idiots and a fool and his money....

Do these people know how macroeconomics works? The economy is all but guaranteed to get better if Obama got up at 5pm and smoked weed every night. When the country is in a better place 4 years from now will they say "we were wrong, the nation is better and we didn't all die in terrorist attacks in Yuma, I guess he wasn't so bad"?
