Now you've made him angry. Asking for facts is usually what makes him run from a thread.

Because people want them and banning them won't change anything.

Now tell me what they shouldn't be able to own an "assault weapon"

And no, any gun isn't an assault weapon. The average gun isn't, and you know that.

The gun used to kill 26 people just a few days back was an average gun was it?
I didn't vote for Romney/Ryan so not sure why you bring that up. I voted for Gary Johnson.

The gun used to kill 26 people was legal under the assault weapons ban.

Because its ****ing ridiculous? Why not let people have tanks and missiles then?

You need a gun that far outweighs what the average cop uses?

People want meth, but banning meth won't stop the people who want it from obtaining it. Lets legalize meth.

I think the 2nd amendment was meant to protect the type of weapons a militia would commonly carry. Tanks and missiles don't apply.

Neither do assault and sniper rifles.

Let's do it.

Still didn't answer my question. If you want to keep side stepping it, then we can conclude that you have no logical reason to argue why I shouldn't be able to purchase those weapons.

Those are the type of weapons a militia would carry. So yes they do.

I'll answer yours as soon as you answer mine. Just saying that "people want guns, therefore they should be legal" is not an answer.

When what they want is protected by the 2nd amendment, I'd say it is a good answer.

Funny considering militias haven't been used for war in this country since the nineteenth century and sniper rifles were considered taboo within our military until around World War 2.

The Constitution also talks about the Three-Fifths Compromise. Should we go back to counting non-whites worth three-fifths of their actual numbers? Then maybe you can have some more politicians in office who are more apt to think like you do when it comes to guns.

The intent was to allow people to protect themselves. You still haven't answered why people shouldn't be able to have "assault weapons"

Wow. More race baiting. From a mod no less. Tisk Tisk. Are you going to get a demerit or is that just for people who don't agree with your politics?

Still no answer.
