Re: The Gun Debate

They're the same thing. I don't believe in magic, I guess you and Diable do. Because there is no magic in three bullet bursts that make them better than full autofire. Except that someone is just as dead after three rounds as 30. Hence the request that military weapons not use full autofire. Because it's economically more efficient. I know that it might seem like the military has an unlimited budget. But they actually don't.

I was always a fan of the double tap method myself, and still prefer it to the 3 bursts

As a pacifist I'm not partial to either. And would prefer a military budget slashed to the bone. Unfortunately now that the military is being put to use in the US' new domestic spying program it appears that the "peace dividend" is already spent and then some.

No. Thanks for trying though.

You can be a pacifist all you want, but at least consider recoil and other factors when trying to debate next time. Aim, shoot 3 quick shots in a burst, re-aim, repeat. Instead of wildly trying to hit a target with a gun shooting over a hundred rounds a minute.

Re: The Gun Debate

30 year old female cop gunned down in my (and Roux2Dope's) hometown this Christmas Eve morning.

Good thing we have all of these guns to keep us safe.

We will never be able to rid our society of all guns. It just isn't possible. And I think the state of Wisconsin would secede from the United States if the gun deer season was threatened.

They actually don't. Even on autofire. Because people do have to reload them. Now go back and re-read my initial statement.

I used to have a neighbour that hunted with a crossbow. He was pretty weird. Used to demonstrate his crossbow by shooting holes in his driveway and using his bulkhead for target practice. Funniest thing about him was his vegetable garden, he basically planted a garden that had only the ingredients of the one dish he knew how to cook.

Another debate where you're right and everyone who disagrees is wrong again huh?

Must be boring to be you. Having to go around telling everyone how it is.

Hey I'm all for crossbows and bow season for season, but opening weekend for the gun deer season in Wisconsin is like a holiday. Spouses who choose not to hunt are referred to has hunting widows . It's just too deeply embedded in the culture up here. Assault/sniper rifles can be done away with, but I just don't think it's realistic to expect anything more than that.

It's like that in many states. However, having A rifle that can only hold 5 shots is different from a 45 round banana clip our a 200 round drum.

Exactly which is why I'm against the high capacity clips as well as assault/sniper rifles.
