The restriction are that you can't take a car anywhere you want and there are certain cars allowed to be driven, but I can definitely have an F1 at my home and drive it on a track. The restrictions are in place, but the most important thing is to not let people with bad judgement behind the wheel of a car or hold the handle of a loaded gun.

Kids, chemically impaired individuals, and the disabled (mentally incapacitated) should not handle a firearm just like they shouldn't handle a car. Criminals are already not allowed to but they clearly are always going to just like there are many people who lose their license for drunk driving but continue to drive.

The biggest question is how to prevent these people from getting ahold of them.

No Hummers?!? This is America buddy.

What is military grade? Black and looks badass? Any semi automatic can wreak havoc in the wrong hands. Hell a bolt action seemed to do the trick in Texas.

Why the **** do the American people need semi auto weapons?

I know the average deer is a real bad mother ****er, but I think an American can take him out with a bolt action rifle. I mean sure, when its bear hunting season break out the .50 cal, hand grenades, and napalm though.

****ing Americans.

Really, now you're against any handguns? What about bullets?

Answer the question. Why do you need a weapon that can clear a room of people?

And I like how any time semi auto comes up, people play it off as handguns.

Can't all weapons clear a room of people? If my gun kills three people and then needs to be reloaded, won't I just bring in another clip?

There is no difference between a bolt action and a semi auto. Ok, there is maybe two seconds difference.

My argument remains the same, why are you worrying about the what a gun in the hands of the wrong person can do rather than preventing it from getting there?

Because if someone opens up on a room with a slower shooting weapon, a much higher number of people would be able to flee, or take the man down.

Answer your own question. You take semi auto weapons out of the hand of the Sandy Hook murderer, do less people die? Pretty easy answer.

And the whole "We need to keep it out of the hands of xxxx" argument is ridiculous. If somethings available to the general public whoever wants it will get it. Kids aren't supposed to get porn, alcohol, drugs or smokes, but they do quiet easily.

when we're talking about a guy ****ing murdering children, don't think the gun he's using really matters. in other cases, you could be right.

Re: The Gun Debate

It seems people want to act like we are dealing with reasonable individuals. Someone who is hell bent on killing a mass amount of people in this day and age will find a way to do so. America was born and bred on violence. This country has been violent from day 1 and taking away guns from people will not change anything not even the degree of violence. Glory killers will just find a way to blow something up.

Asking why do Americans need semi-automatics is game playing. You can ask similar questions about anything. Why do the sell cars that can exceed any legal posted speed limit?

Then aren't you arguing that you need a culture change in America?

I can't. I'm just a poster from Canada.

I'll talk to the Prime Minister though and see if we can help.
