I chose ban all guns. I don't really mean to include hunting rifles, which I have no real problem with. I guess I could have gone with "other" but there was something satisfying about the notion of banning guns in general. There are plenty of antiquated things from our constitution that we've abandoned over the years (like the 3/5's clause), I see no reason to cling to the 2nd amendment as some sort of sacred right to shoot each other up.

Hmmm... I've never known anyone that was addicted to guns... I'm also not aware of anyone going on a mass bong-hit spree that left a bunch of people dead. It is a little lazy to treat 'prohibition' as a one-analysis-fits-all concept.

Hyperpole is really going to solve our problems. It's not even worth thinking about banning guns, we have something like 300 million of them already and any drastic changes to our gun laws are not going to happen.

However there's reason why we need assault weapons in the hands of ordinary people and you don't high capacity magazines unless you're participating in some sort of gang ware. That's just common sense, but I am sure that it has no place in this argument.

Like the ban on drugs a ban on guns would not only fail in stemming the tide of guns but it would create a black market that enriches the bad guys while making criminals out of ordinary people.

Ban assault rifles is what I chose. I also don't think there should be clips with more than 5-6 bullets in them as the purpose of any more is no longer hunting.
