Re: White House sees promise in revisiting elements of ‘grand bargain’ on taxes, spending
The Republicans aren't united enough to make a deal. You already have the Tea Party types promising to mount primary challenges on everyone who compromises. Boehner just doesn't have enough control over the House Republicans and he's too big of a pussy to make a deal that would require Democratic votes. No one in our government has the guts to do their jobs.

You mean no one in government has the guts to continue spending like a drunken sailor on shore leave in a Hong Kong whorehouse? Allow me to introduce you to the American government, where every day is Mexican Sex Party USA!™

I thought Obama was just going to play chicken on this one. "Oh, you want to default on the debt? Alright, if that's what you have to do, have fun with your donors. I'm sure none of them own government backed securities."

dbuma is a piece of shit. Spending must be curtailed to only what is taken in. Do not raise the debt limit one more penny and balance the budget for the first time in four years you scumbag liberals.

Debt limit has nothing to do with new spending, but I can see from your rep and use of "dbuma" that there is absolutely no point in even acknowledging you. Free Republic has a nice board, you should check it out.

Besides, I'm pretty sure that the economic plan for the last 12 years has been to wait for the next paradigm shift to bail them out.

I envision toxic wastelands peopled by hideous illiterate mutant freaks (you know a little like Mississippi) and fear only the irony of the influx of post union illegal immigrants fleeing their unliveable circumstances

Really? I haven't seen a lot of the south that looks like New Jersey, Michigan or Ohio. And, of course, the reality is that the fed takes all the natural resource money for itself, those income tax studies always ignore that because they aren't designed to reflect reality so much as to placate the prejudices of the ignorant.

No, seriously, go to Detroit, Newark, or Cleveland

Ummmmm, yeah, they are. You can smell Newark from 10,000 feet up.
