Who's with me?

The catholic church is viewed as a stagnant organization with no new inovative thinking. They had a real shot to put in one of the guys in West Africa that are doing real vital work down there but intead they stick with the same old inflexible holier than thou type they've always had.

It seems like they could've gone with another direction, thats for sure. But it's a conservative base, and I'm sure they don't want to change much.

He's pefect for the Catholic church! He's old, ugly, extremely conservative, and an ex-Nazi. What more could they want?

I'm not sure if you can really call him an ex-Nazi, considering he was a youth and from accounts, didn't do it willingly. Considering he was 18 when the war was over, and just about...12(?) when Hitler took over (maybe younger. Didn't hitler take over in 33? That'd make him 6), I dont think it's fair nor accurate to portray him as an "ex nazi".

ALL children of eligible age were part of the Hitler Youth (Weremacht) - Ratzinger was not an active member and fled away from it almost immediately.

I disagree with your assessment of him as well. He is a faithful, humble servant. He has been a teacher of Theology for most of his years.

If you desire such LARGE CHANGES find another building for it. But don't expect that from the Catholic Church.

No one ever complains about the Mormon church and its views about similar issues. Hmmm!

if you don't think the mormon church is mocked, you got another think coming. That religion is almost routinely mocked by just about anyone who's not mormon.

wehrmacht = german army
hitler jugend = hitler youth

he served in hitler youth(unwillingly according to records) until he was 17 and was drafted to wehrmacht, which he deserted in 1944.

Yes, you are correct. I was meaning on bbb.net there is very little opposition to the Mormon church compared to the Catholic church.

I think thats because, no offense to any mormons on the board, no one cares about Mormoms.

Just like no one rips on Lutherans. No one cares about us.
