That's just it, they did try a non lethal weapon to stop him, they tasered him twice, and it didn't stop him. After that wouldn't you feel a little threaten if he absorb that and kept coming? If he did get their gun and killed someone it'd be their fault if they could have stopped him and didn't. As I said it's so easy to judge someone else.

I don't live in PDX, so I probably haven't read as many of the details as you guys. I don't think all cops are bad, and I don't envy their job.

I can understand where the cops would be pretty leary of a guy they tasered twice, and he kept coming. BUT, here's my issue: IIRC, the paper I read said they shot him seven (7!) times. I can see the cops' worry about a (supposedly) drug crazed nut taking their guns and killing someone, but how can you shoot an unarmed guy SEVEN times? Seems like one shot would have placed the situation well under

I think the rub is this...if cops are going to go to prison (where they do HARD time) for mistakes in judgement, the time will come when there won't be enough cops to keep the peace.
