Nate and Lucas both came out against the Bush administration on Sunday, and Nate said

“The New Orleans situation has shown that this government has turned their back on the poor ... now Bush is accepting blame … And then the governor down there is doing the same thing. OK, you accept the blame for these two, three hundred people that have died? You gonna sweep that under the rug? I think it’s total B.S. to now say ‘Yes, I accept.’ Like, all of a sudden they’ve accepted blame and we can move on. You should be put in prison for what they’ve just done.”

Not to argue the merits of this issue, but in what sense is this not a political thread? So Nate has political opinions...everybody does. That doesn't make this fair game for the general board, IMO.

this is not off topic, it is about a current blazer coach. It is about how he fits into the community and the city. It is about how our coach comunicates. I have never once leveled a complaint towards moderators before, but this is bs. Put this thread back in the Blazer forum. It's not OK just to move it because you don't agree with it. shame on you.

I moved it, and not because I don't agree with it, I DO agree with him. You say this is about how he fits into the community and city and how he communicates. The only community or city mentioned is New Orleans, not Portland. I can see from that quote how he communicates about politics, but not basketball, leaving it in the main forum based on that is a major stretch IMO.

Then why the hell do threads like this get moved while other off topic ones don't. all of the following threads are on the first thread page of the Blazers forum:

There are three topics that, while not related to the Blazers, it has been generally decided are allowed to remain on the main forum, other basketball news, Oregon and personal topics about one or more of our posters. I moved the TO booted from the Eagles thread, the others, including the one about Schilly's baby that you forgot to mention, fall under one of the exceptions IMO. I also moved the sa1177 birthday thread from the OT Forum, where it was started, to the main forum.

Also, we used to allow anything that people wanted to talk about on the main forum but we got to divided by politics so that topic was banned from there. When we got the OT Forum, we decided to comprimise and allow politics in there, but we aren't ready to allow it back in the main forum yet.
