He can finally catch the fly with his chopsticks, now that he is in heaven.

Re: mr. miagi died today
73 and i don't know how he died. maybe he was drunk thinking of his wife who died, then killed himself with his chopsticks because he couldn't catch a fly and daniel san could.

Re: mr. miagi died today
Wow I can't believe the immature total and utter disrespect for a man who has just passed away...Absolutely unbelieveable how self centered and dispicable some people can be.
Apparently some people think it's fun to make fun of dead people.

Re: mr. miagi died today
Well I guess unlike some people, some of us have a bit darker sense of humor then you do. Unfortunately if you would look around a little bit, you will realize that many people deal with Death by using humor, or by remembering funny things, such as this family who buried a Steelers fan:
http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/05187/533357.stm
Just because you don't agree with it doesn't make it right or wrong.
Many of us, especially those who have taken martial arts classes, would probably agree that the Karate Kid, was a hilarious movie. Wax On, Wax off. The Stork Kick. If you don't like the fact that we find that stuff funny, and choose to remember Pat Morita for some of those things, too bad.

Being someone myself who has pusued Martial Arts, does understand the humor in the film. I fail to believe that people on this board are coping with the emotional loss with humor. Nor do I think that compared to an avid steelers fan that Pat Morrita would want to be portrayed ...

One thing martial arts does teach is respect, unless you go to like Rex Kwon Do.

Re: mr. miagi died today
One thing ironic about this whole discussion is my avatar....I've had it up for weeks and it just happens to be the Cobra Kai (bad guys in karate kid) slogan...I want to point out that I am not a fan of the movie, I just thought that slogan and image was kinda cool.

Who said anything about emotional loss? I said people cope with DEATH in different ways.

Re: mr. miagi died today
I actually loved the movie. I have great respect for Pat Morita but my humor was a gentle attempt at a little honor to His character in the film.
He was like a knight in shining armor from a long time ago...
He was a man who would fight for your honor, he was the hero we were looking for...
Sayonara Mr. Miyagi.
