Muslim hypocrisy on display
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/4684652.stm
The hordes of muslims who are rioting and attacking foreign embassies over a cartoon of Muhammad are completely out of line, in my opinion. Why didn't we see this kind of massive uprising when Muslims learned that Saddam Hussein had killed over a million of their fellow Arabs? Why didn't we see it when Muslim terrorists slit the throat of journalist Daniel Pearl? Why didn't we see it when Muslim terrorists massacred almost 3,000 innocent Americans on 9/11? And why don't we see it right now when terrorists in Iraq are killing hundreds of their own people?
Apparently it's okay to slaughter untold millions of innocent people in the name of Islam, but a newspaper can't publish a photo making fun of Muhammad. This is hypocrisy beyond belief.

Re: Muslim hypocrisy on display
You are very misinformed...In Islam it's considered a sin to create any image of Allah or the prophet it really doesn't have anything to do with it being a funny looking cartoon or not.
Knowing this I can understand their anger but I do agree their reaction hasn't been very apropriate.

Re: Muslim hypocrisy on display
as if we don't have Christians who go into abortion clinics and blow away all the doctors and only turn the guy on themselves after everyone else is dead in the name of Jesus and Christianity. Happens all the time. They are really dependent on religion in the mid east (for obvious reasons). They take their religion seriously and when they have already been feeling opressed by much of the western world, a cartoon will indeed push them over the edge. You're crazy if you don't think many Muslims didn't get together in protest against Saddam. The Saddam situation in Iraq had absolutely ZERO to do with Islam, nothing Saddam did or said had anything to do with the religion. He wasn't a Muslim Fanatic, he was absolutely drunk with power and so were his sons. They raped women, put people in meat shredders, killed thousands of women and children because he thought they were conspiring to kill him.
Osama has none of those characteristics. His form of abuse IS from religion unlike Saddam. You need to read up on your facts before asserting Muslims didn't get up and say something when these events happened. Your media didn't provide an accurate depiction of Muslims when 9/11 went down. You have to understand that MOST of the mid east countries are PRO America but their governments are not and if they say anything in defense of America, the regime will **** them up. Iran is a VERY Pro American country, but the garbage government that has been cursing them since the U.S. basically ousted the Shah along with Britain. America has really really ****ED up the mid east, seriously.

I'm very aware that it's considered a sin to create an image of Allah or the prophet. But if you don't think they're also angry about the stick of dynamite on his head, then you are the one who is misinformed.
My point is, if it's considered a bigger sin to create an image of Allah than it is to kill thousands or millions of innocent people, something is seriously rotten in the state of the Mideast . . .

Agreed something is not right but the question is does the problem lie with the religion itself or with the people attempting to practice it?

Re: Muslim hypocrisy on display
This cartoon appeared in a Muslim publication and seemed to go over quite well. It depicts a jackbooted, bloody-handed Ariel Sharon lusting after the blood of Arab children while crushing peace. Think this was an "offensive image" to the Jews?

Saddam Hussein did not mock the Arab religion. Muslim terrorists did not mock the Christian religion. Al-Queda did not mock our religion. The cartoon is outright blasphemy. You can insult a man, but you can never insult what he believes in. That calls for war.

Re: Muslim hypocrisy on display
Honestly this gets so annoying......
All of the people that claim they are Muslim but go off and kill anyone or do terrorist acts are not in fact muslim. People in america throw that term around too often. A person claiming they are muslim and killing off people is the same as a Catholic priest saying he is catholic but in the mean time is molesting children. They ARENT TRUE muslims or catholics. The Muslim religion and Christian religion are actually quite similar if you know much about them. Actual Muslims will definately get mad at seeing something derogatory towards Allah or Muhammed. Just the same as a christian getting upset over defamation of jesus christ

Re: Muslim hypocrisy on display
Did the Danish cartoonists or editors who chose to run the cartoons KNOW that creating an image of Mohammed was blasphemous?
Also, it seems to me if they had committed the same offense against Christians, Christians would let them know of their wrong-doing and then forgive them. Not call for a holy war.
