I would've much rather they captured him, like they did Saddam, and make him look like a fool instead of turn into a martyr (sp).

I think when our troops/armed forces are given a decent game plan, and a *smart* one, they can totally kick *** without much trouble. It's that they're not given a decent one often enough.

Zarqawi was a monster who killed thousands of his own people, not to mention U.S. and coalition soldiers. His death is a blessing for the country and a hopeful sign for their future.

The death of Abu Musab Zarqawi marks the end of one of the most accomplished mass murderers in the modern history of terrorism. According to the claims of responsibility released by his own group in Iraq, Zarqawi and his followers have conservatively murdered thousands of Iraq civilians and hundreds of coalition soldiers--in addition to perpetrating the February 2006 bombing of the al-Askariyyah Mosque in Samarra that instigated a wave of sectarian violence across the country.

THINK about it. Does your comment make much sense? Does it follow the facts? Do you have any evidence whatsoever to indicate the truth of a proposition that contains internal contradictions?

Hint: if an administration is so all-powerful they can time the attack on the 2nd most wanted man on their list, who has eleduded capture for years, how is it they are powerless to stop a massive slide in the polls, which according to most observers has nearly crippled the current administration, which if so, brings us back full circle.

I'm always extremely dubious about "timing" conspiracies. If we'd killed him at any point in the past 8 months, you could allege that it was "timed" during a downturn in Bush's approval ratings.

We are so desperate for success stories that it's really doubtful we'd ever wait on something like this. If "Mission Accomplished" taught us anything, it's that our president doesn't sit on a positive news story.

Great post. Not to mention the fact that, if the administration could actually capture or kill one of the Iraqi terrorist leaders at will, why wouldn't they have done it a long time ago? They clearly want this war over as soon as possible, as we all do.
