Re: No Indictment for Bonds
I only heard it on the radio (15 second report), there is currently no indictment planned by the US attorney.
Speculation is that Bonds lawyers are negoitating with the US Attorney"s Office about some deal. So your comment was right on.

Re: No Indictment for Bonds
A special deal is probably in the works...Bonds could still be indited though, just not by this particular Grand Jury.

Re: No Indictment for Bonds
He kept his mouth shut.....You can get out of a lot, if you just keep your trap door closed. And when you do open it, say "Lawyer, lawyer, lawyer, lawyer, lawyer!!!" Or, "I don't know what you are talking about, didn't do it, didn't do it, didn't do it!!!"
Bonds
I used to hate him, but now I hope he gets off.....If they get him, they better get McGwire, Sosa, Raffey....They're all guilty as hell.
Are there not more important things for the government to be investigating??

Re: No Indictment for Bonds
They can never prove that he commited purjury, because all he has to do is stick to his guns....Which he will....
"I thought it was flakseed oil...."
That's all he had to say.
I guess if his name was Barry Clinton, he'd really have nothing to worry about.

Re: No Indictment for Bonds
On the new this AM they were saying that this was done to put pressure on Greg Anderson to testify against Bonds...A new Grand jury will be convened and will request Anderson's testimony, if he refuses he will be sent to prison for the duration of the Grand Jury which should be around 18months.
I think Bond will be indited eventually unless he cops a plea deal. The government is making this play hoping to force Anderson into testifying thus making the case against Bonds ironclad.

Re: No Indictment for Bonds
This is a huge waste of our money. Who cares if these guys and anybody else uses? This is supposed to be a FREE COUNTRY! Steroids are a personal decision and actually aren't as harmful as some have been led to believe. Yes, in high doses without cycling off, steroids can be very harmful, but I doubt baseball players use in that way. The only drugs that should be illegal are the opiate based drugs and the strong stimulant based drugs. Other than those, the government is making a mountain out a molehill.
Anyway, Bonds is a great player. People also have to remember that numerous pitchers have been caught? So, if he was hitting against juiced pitchers, how can you degrade his accomplishments? He may be a *****, but that's no excuse to have a witch hunt against him.
