Hoojacks! Are you saying Talkhard actually made an irresponsible and uninformed statement.
I am truly shocked.

Re: It's a good day to be a Democrat
For the first time in over 80 years, no Democratic incumbent lost an election in the House or the Senate.

Re: It's a good day to be a Democrat
OK, here's a trivia question for you all.
Of all the candidates running in Tuesday's election, which person received the most votes, in absolute numbers?

I'd guess Arnold or Clinton.

I'd go with Mickey Mouse or Sponge Bob Squarepants on the write-in vote.

I would guess it's someone in a statewide race in California. I was going to guess Feinstein, but I cheated and checked the state results, and saw that she did in fact outpoll Schwarzenegger. 4,058,698 votes.
I suppose though there could be some obscure noncontroversial comptroller or something from a major state who polled 80% and beat her out though?

Re: It's a good day to be a Democrat
No, it was Dianne Feinstein
State with largest population
Republicans ran only token candidate
A few third parties ran but the only one with any significant following, the Greens, ran a token
Feinstein is pretty conservative so got most of the "moderate Republican" vote
Funny, her poliitcs are quite similar to Hillary Clinton and both are women yet somehow all the talk radio refers to Clinton as some far left super radical foaming at the mouth lefty nutcase.

Actually, I responded to that post as well, and pointed out that it's pretty doubtful and that both parties are likely in bed with the oil industry and large defense contractors. Now that the Democrats are in power, they should be getting a lot more phone calls from these guys... yay for them.
So to answer your question, I think both statements are BS. If you're willing to admit that saying "The terrorists are celebrating" is baseless and petty, then I'm done here.

On the audio tape made available on militant Web sites, the al-Qaida in Iraq leader also welcomed the Republican electoral defeat that led to the departure of Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld. He added that the group's fighters would not rest until they had blown up the White House. ...
Al-Muhajir became the leader of al-Qaida in Iraq after Abu Musab al- Zarqawi was killed in a U.S. airstrike in June. The tape could not be independently verified.
"The American people have put their feet on the right path by ... realizing their president's betrayal in supporting Israel," the terror leader said. "So they voted for something reasonable in the last elections."

Re: It's a good day to be a Democrat
If those quotes are the best you can do I would say its still baseless and petty.
I’m not saying you cant rationalize or understand the true goals or beliefs of al-Qaida. Its just that most politicians try to put their own spin on it or marginalize them into mindless American hating beast.
They speak with such propaganda and rhetoric its petty to take their political one liners seriously. If you really want to know their goals and their beliefs they are happy to tell you in great detail.

If they didn't demonize someone, talk radio wouldn't have anything to talk about.
Actually, I think Hillary was picked for a few reasons.
1) She seems to be a true politician type, who is a bit opportunistic about choosing what she supports and when. This is a legitimate complaint IMO, although it is such a common trait in Washington that she hardly deserves to be singled out for it as much as she has been.
2) She is perceived as a potential presidential candidate. A lot of Republicans like bashing her because they are afraid that she may be popular enough t | |
