This ought to cheer you up a bit.:
All that is gold does not glitter, not all those who wander are lost;
the old that is strong does not wither, deep roots are not reached by the frost.
From the ashes a fire shall be woken, a light from the shadows shall spring;
renewed shall be blade that was broken, the crownless again shall be king.
J.R.R. Tolkien from the Fellowship of the Ring
I MEAN, IT'S NOT LIKE IT'S YOUR ELEVENTY-FIRST!

Wow, MARIS. You hit the nail on the head with that one in many ways. Thank you.

Wow. It's been so long I had expected the image to be black and white.

Re: Divorce
Checking in. God, I love listening to Evanescence:
Out on your own
Cold and alone again
Can this be what you really wanted, baby?
Blame it on me
Set your guilt free
Nothing can hold you back now
Now that you're gone
I feel like myself again
Grieving the things I can't repair and willing...
...To let you blame it on me
And set your guilt free
I don't want to hold you back now love
I can't change who I am
Not this time, I won't lie to keep you near me
And in this short life, there's no time to waste on giving up
My love wasn't enough
And you can blame it on me
Just set your guilt free, honey
I don't want to hold you back now love
PBF

Re: Divorce
Conundrum:
I have the kids this weekend. My wife is going out of town. She just called and said she has people she can ask to take care of the dog while she's away, but that the boys don't want anyone taking care of the dog but them, and asked if I could take the boys over there a couple times each day this weekend to feed/walk/play with the dog.
I don't particularly feel like doing it, but 1) I am trying to pick my battles these days, and 2) it would put the boys minds at ease.
What should I do?

Re: Divorce
Hey PBF, while she may be taking advantage of you, I think it would be good for you, the boys and the dog to all have time together.
Dog, huh?

Re: Divorce
If it enhances the time spent with your boys then do it..If it detracts from the time spent with them then don't.
Is the time spent doing it preventing you from doing something else you had wanted to do with your sons?

Re: Divorce
Checking in. Had a GREAT weekend with the kids. We checked in on the dog a couple times each day. No big deal. Wife was out of town camping (with, guess who...).
