Re: Divorce
BTW, another learning to pass on to others in similar situations who may be reading this thread at some point down the road:
If you have a taste for hard rock at all, pick up a copy of "The Open Door" by Evanescence and put it on regular rotation. The entire album is about the ending of relationships (good, bad, addictive, abusive, or whatever), putting the past in the past, and finding the strength to move on despite the scars of past pain. The arrangements, lyrics, and orchestrations are top-notch (although because it's far from main-stream, I doubt it will be showing up on any of the Top 40 charts any time soon). Whoever writes their lyrics (Amy Lee, primarily) really understands the pain of ending relationships, and the whole delivery can leave you feeling not quite so alone and, in some cases, energized. And the songs rock, too. Very therapeutic for someone going through this kind of thing.

Re: Divorce
Sadly beautiful song I just discovered (same band):
Please, please forgive me
But I won't be home again
Maybe someday you'll look up
And, barely conscious, you'll say to no one:
"Isn't something missing?"
You won't cry for my absence, I know...
You forgot me long ago
Am I that unimportant...?
Am I so insignificant...?
Isn't something missing?
Isn't someone missing me?
Even though I'm the sacrifice
You won't try for me, not now
Though I'd die to know you love me
I'm all alone
Isn't someone missing me?
Please, please forgive me
But I won't be home again
I know what you do to yourself
I breathe deep and cry out:
"Isn't something missing?
Isn't someone missing me?"
Even though I'm the sacrifice
You won't try for me, not now
Though I'd die to know you love me
I'm all alone
Isn't someone missing me?
And if I bleed, I'll bleed
Knowing you don't care
And if I sleep just to dream of you
I'll wake without you there
Isn't something missing?
Isn't something...
Even though I'm the sacrifice
You won't try for me, not now
Though I'd die to know you love me
I'm all alone
Isn't something missing?
Isn't someone missing me?

Re: Divorce
C'mon PBF, lighten up and get on with your new, better life.
It's spring, after all.
One More Minute
by Al Yankovic
Lyrics:
(constant "doo wop"s in the background throughout the song)
Aahh
Well I heard that you're leavin' (leavin')
Gonna leave me far behind (so far behind)
'Cause you found a brand new lover
You decided that I'm not your kind (aahh..)
So I pulled (I pulled) your name out (name out) of my Rolodex (oohh..)
And I tore all your pictures in two
And I burned down the malt shop where we used to go
Just because it reminds me of you (dippity dippity doo)
That's right (that's right) you ain't gonna see me cryin'
I'm glad (I'm glad) that you found somebody new
'Cause I'd rather spend eternity eating shards of broken glass
Than spend one more minute with you
I guess I might seem kinda bitter
You got me feeling down in the dumps
'Cause I'm stranded all alone in the gas station of love
And I have to use the self-service pumps
Oh, so honey, let me help you with that suitcase
You ain't (you ain't) gonna break my heart in two
'Cause I'd rather get a hundred thousand paper cuts on my face
Than spend one more minute with you
I'd rather rip out my intestines with a fork
Than watch you going out with other men
I'd rather slam my fingers in a door (yah)
Again and again and again and again and again
Oh, can't you see what I'm tryin' to say, Darlin...
I'd rather have my blood sucked out by leeches (leeches)
Shove an icepick under a toenail or two
I'd rather clean all the bathroom in Grand Central Station with my tongue
Than spend one more minute with you
Yes, I'd rather jump naked on a huge pile of thumbtacks
Or stick my nostrils together with crazy glue
I'd rather dive into a swimming pool filled with double-edged razor blades
Than spend one more minute with you
I'd rather rip my heart out of my ribcage with my bare hands
and then throw it on the floor and stomp on it 'till I die
Than spend one more minute with you

Sorry, MARIS. Still mourning the death of my marriage. 17 years (10 of them married) arent cast aside that easily (for me, anyway).
Like the song.

Re: Divorce
sorry if this was suggested, I don't remember..but maybe you should hire a private detective to see what she might be up to.

Re: Divorce
glad to hear you got a good night's sleep. I did too!
you're lucky to have such a great relationship with your kids.
not that it really matters at this point, but have you considered that your ex may have Borderline Personality Disorder? here's the Wiki link:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Borderl...ality_disorder
my own mom has it, and it's incredibly difficult to deal with. one minute things are great and you are wonderful, the next she is calling you a rotten person and twisting all kinds of facts to support her case. also very binary thinking--you are either good or bad, there's no gray area. her new friends are her "saviors" (for now). mostly stems from fear of abandonment, which is ironic in that many of the symptoms result in being abandoned.
I'm probably taking a big leap in diagnosing such a thing on a message board. it's just that some of the things you've mentioned seem like pretty classic symptoms.
of course, they're also symptoms of a highly emotional divorce, I suppose.

Re: Divorce
Colin Cowherd just went on a little rant about the divorce he is going thru. You should download the podcast of it and listen to it PBF. Different situation than what you are going thru, but you'll relate to a lot of what he says.

Re: Divorce
The crap Coward used to say on air regarding his wife makes his impending divorce no surprise.
