You know, PBF, it's easy for someone to look "perfect" for a few weeks. Most of us, once we are out of our teens, stop expecting "perfect".
If you don't mind my asking, did she come from a wealthy family? I see the attitude of a very spoiled rich girl who was also "daddy's little girl". And expects to be "daddy's little girl" even when she's a grown woman with husband taking the role of "daddy". Someone who takes care of everything and makes everything OK.
Be prepared in a court hearing for her to do a song and dance about being betrayed by you. I know that sounds wacko, but she may well really feel like that. Daddy was supposed to take care of everything. Even when she rejected you.
Where the HELL is her money coming from?

Apparently, there is no substitute for perfect in la-la land.

No, she is the child of lower middle-class divorce like myself. I think her daddy-complex complex comes from the fact that I pretty much played that role (taking care of stuff) for so long. If anyone spoiled her, it was me.

Oregon is a no-fault divorce state. That kind of song-and-dance falls on deaf ears here. Reasons for the divorce dont matter - only the welfare of the children.

Me. She embezzled everything she could get her hands on and stashed it away where I couldnt touch (or track) it. And I have probably been too generous with the living expense money each paycheck. But I am tightening that up in order to help keep me from going over my living expense budget each paycheck (despite spending almost NOTHING on my own personal entertainment), and apparently her reserves are running dry, so maybe reality is beginning to set in. Maybe.

Dang, Crandc, we are sympatico today! I was just going to say, Dan might seem perfect now but give it time (and I'm sure Burnadette has plenty of examples of his imperfection if the ex cared to ask).
Everyone (shockingly this includes me) has their own unique little psychosis. There's no such thing as a perfect anything when describing a human being. And on a side note, why don't people on reality shows realize that millions of people are going to know just how psycho you are? But I digress...
I'm thinking that when she's no longer protected it's going to be a very hard landing. She really doesn't seem to grasp reality at all.
I don't know how I'd feel in Burnadette's shoes right now. Maybe nothing's happened but I wouldn't be that comfortable with my best friend looking at my spouse with such blind adoration.
P.S. And Crandc, I'm pretty sure it's illegal to marry your sister in all 50 states.

That's definitely a major hurdle. Between this and the direct blood relative thing I'm starting to think the whole "Love conquers all" idea might not be entirely true in all cases. I feel so disillusioned right now.
By the way, are you going to make it up here for opening night?

Do you need a computer?
If you feel up to it, as a geek, I love a good computer story.

Re: Divorce
I would offer a bit of advice, but it would totally be inappropriate, especially coming from a mod.
(I'll just say this: I have a really twisted sense of humor... and a lot of people would be offended by what I would say.)
This thread is also making me appreciate being single. It's just easier, and cheaper.

And leaves more time available for being a mod.

Yes, I need a computer...
...but I've got to get that 2nd one from the soon-to-be-ex. Work-related (sorry, not up to it right now - mountains of work to do).
Thanks for the offer, though, gambitnut.
