What does your attorney say about all this?

As I mentioned above, my wife occasionally tells me she doesn't have enough money to pay the bills (she does, she just doesn't *want* to spend it - she admits to having all the money she took out of the IRA - which was designated for the kids' education, BTW - but is "saving it for emergencies" in her words). Anyway, she says she doesn't have enough money to pay the bills, but keeps telling me about new activities the kids want to do. Our oldest is currently participating in little league baseball and Tae-Kwon-Do lessons, and our younger son is also participating in little league baseball. And last Saturday, she informed me that our oldest also wants to participate in this Science Wizards camp, which costs $75. She told me about this literally 2 sentences after telling me she didn't have enough money to pay the bills. My response was that I didn't think our oldest was being deprived of activity at the moment, and that I didn't think we could afford the science camp right now.
Oh yeah, the question: Was this the wrong answer?

I don't know what the right answer is, but my concern is that the answer you gave her will be delivered to your son with a twist on it.
I would have picked up son and personally signed him up and payed for the fee with son . . . not saying anything bad about mom, but not letting her take the credit for additional $75 bucks you have to cough up.
But who knows what the right way to handle that situation would have been . . . better stop listening to the FAN and start tuning into to Dr. Joyce.

Re: Divorce
Still here, LameR. Been posting to on-topic threads regularly, though. Sorry, should have kept checking in on this one.
Took the boys out to the season finale last night, and had a really great time. Today, however, I am feeling worse than I have felt since this whole ordeal first started back in November. People keep telling me that I am going to make it through this, but right now I just can't see how. Not feeling suicidal here - the kids need me, now more than ever, and I just could never do that to them. But damn... this pain is worse than any I have ever felt.
Someone PLEASE say something to cheer me up.

Great thought, TLo. Just wish it had more I could hang my hat on right now.

You have your health, you are successful in your professional career and you are a role model to your boys. Some wish they could be so lucky.
Divorce is not easy, but this board has shown real life examples of people who have hit lows and come back. Getting through this will only make you stronger in the end (or more bitter , sorry couldn't resist . . . did it at least make you chuckle).
