Wow! I live in the East Bay, work in South San Francisco, read the San Francisco Chronicle on Bay Area Rapid Transit, good think I have yega to tell me what goes on in my own home town!

Funny, no one saw any evil, or even nice, Chinese invaders in San Francisco. Of course, perhaps to yega all Chinese people are alike and there are a lot of Chinese people in San Francisco. However, the Chinese community goes back a century or more. No doubt those evil nefarious Chinese planned this invasion long ago and made everyone believe they were just coming here in the early 20th century to build railroads and run restaurants and laundries and send their children to universities to work in high tech fields. All this in preparation for an invasion of San Francisco in 2008 that is so damn clever NO ONE in the city noticed it!!! Thank whatever gods and goddesses there are for yega!

Maybe you need to get your nose out of those Good Housekeeping magazines and pay attention to what is happening. Many activists actually tried to put the torch out with a fire extinguisher. Many came out to protest. They chinese guarding the torch were part of an elite para-military team who is extremely cruel. They got into many scuffles with European people simply for protesting the way China is oppressing Tibet.

I know I keep hammering this point, but why are we taking personal shots at people? Yega wasn't talking about the guy down the street, he was talking about these Chinese security agents roughing up citizens of a foreign country. You're certainly smart enough to understand what he was saying, and what was written in the article, so why not just respond to the article instead of making a personal attack?

The dialogue in here would be a lot better if we separated the idea from the person.

Yega said evil Chinese agents "invaded" San Francisco, and when I said I saw none he told me to stop reading Good Housekeeping, which I don't read. In fact there was no "roughing up" in San Francisco, they moved the parade site. Agree or disagree, and that's hotly contested, there sure as hell was no invasion of San Francisco yesterday. Funny, no real media, including in San Francisco, and no one here, noticed we were invaded. I guess all the millions of residents were busy reading Good Housekeeping. Or maybe Good Mousekeeping, I don't know.

I do know in France and elsewhere there were attempts to put out the torch and there have been protests. Protests and trying to put out the torch does not mean San Francisco was invaded by "evil Chinese". It didn't happen. End of story.
