Obscene and illiterate hate mail is not new for the web site www.feministing.com. But Jessica Valenti, who runs the site, found something new in this gem, which I will quote (although this board will block out the obscenities):

Men are better than women look at the comparison in IQ men are scientifically proven to have a higher IQ by roughly 5 points, or 5% you cannot dispute science sorry and if you want a much better website than your ****ty one you might want to go to [redacted]. I think you would gain a lot more knowledge from that website and you might learn about the truth that way you would not be so stupid and ignorant you stupid ****s.

The supposed 5% IQ advantage did not, obviously, translate into English language use. Moreoever, since IQ is not measured on a 100 point scale, a 5 point difference does not equal 5% (even if there were such a difference, which there is not) so the sender's 5% advantage still leaves him math-challenged. And the sender's supposed IQ advantage did not warn him not to send from his school email, so Jessica was able to trace him. The self-proclaimed genius is none other than one Alex Kochno, public relations (!) officer of College Republicans at Southern Illinois University.

Poor Alex received so much flack for his exhibition of brilliance he had to block his facebook site.

Incidentally, a search of Southern Illinois University College Republicans revealed all their officers are male.

And have high IQ's, no doubt!

To update the story: Both the Vice President and the Secretary of Southern Illinois University College Republicans went to the feministing.com web site to apologize. They received Alex Kochno's resignation from his position as public relations officer of College Republicans. Mr. Kochno claims he has no memory of sending the email as he was drunk, although the email was sent at 7 AM. And drunkenness does not usually change one's opinions, just loosens inhibitions about how they are expressed.

He did not, as Maris claims, try to say his secretary wrote the email.

SIU Student Code of Conduct explicitly states that intoxication is not considered an excuse for violations of the code. SIU ran a full page ad in their student newspaper to inform students of proper use of campus email and to apologize for the misuse.

Thanks are due to SIU administration and the other officers of College Republicans for their response.

Female students at SIU have suggested Mr. Kochno enroll in some of the many excellent courses in their English department.

Jessica Valenti should run a service called FindATroll.com. You type in your credit card number to pay your $5, type in the link to his post, and out pops his name, address, and job with the Republican Party or CIA. A lot of systematic trolls have such an agenda. Yahoo stopped having comments after their articles because of it. Seriously, why was there a happy solution only this time? Valenti should make her talent available to us all.
