Who's Obama's VP?
So, who's it gonna be? Hillary? Edwards? Gore? Colbert?
Personally, I'm thinking/hoping Edwards.

won't be Hillary -- you can count on that.
I'd LOVE to see Edwards, but who knows.

Re: Who's Obama's VP?
Edwards is who Im crossing my fingers for. I cant see how it could possibly be Hillary, unless its done as some sort of under the table deal to get her to bow out. I think hes far too smart to let her VP, and she has far too big an ego to step in as 2nd in command.

Re: Who's Obama's VP?
I think Edwards is probably higher on the list. I have no idea who I prefer. I'd like to see Richardson and Clark in the administration though.

I think Richardson would be ideal.

Re: Who's Obama's VP?
My sense:
Not Hillary Clinton. It would be hard for her to campaign for someone who she keeps saying is unelectable and not qualified. Both would look like hypocrites. Also, the president wants to be center of attention. With Hillary Clinton as VP nominee, her husband would be center of attention, not Obama.
Not Al Gore. He would not want to be VP again and has re-created himself in a successful new career. I could see him as Sec of the Interior, though.
John Edwards, possibly. Not sure if he wants to run for VP again, but he's still fairly young.
Possibilities I've heard: Virginia Senator Jim Webb, Bill Richardson, Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sibelius, Evin Bayh, Gen. Wesley Clark, either of Florida's Senators (Nelson or Graham), Colorado Gov. Bill Ritter, Missouri senator Claire McCaskill, Ohio Gov Ted Strickland ... and a lot more.
I think myself he'll pick a swing stater and/or a Clinton backer.

Re: Who's Obama's VP?
Jim Webb makes the most sense - Ex-Republican, foreign policy credentials, not part of "old" Washington, could help with a swing state.
Hillary - no way, too much bad blood and she really offers little
Richardson - Maybe, but I think a black and an Hispanic is not a winning combo
He need a white male with a foreign policy background.

Bill Richardson or John Edwards would be dandy.
Hillary is too divisive

The problem with Webb is that he's not perceived as yet ready for the big chair, and you know some idiot will bring up the spectre of assassination of potentially the second black president.
For that reason, I could see the return of Sam Nunn. He solves a couple of problems. First, he has plenty of national security experience. Second, he brings age and experience to the ticket. Third, he can speak to Southerners and more conservative Democrats.
If I had to guess, however, Obama goes with someone that doesn't cover his shortcomings but rather someone with whom he feels comfortable. He's already stated that he considers foreign policy to be one of his strong suits, which says a lot about his lack of self-awareness. Politically, he should look to Ted Strickland or Ed Rendell. Bottom line, he needs someone with executive experience who can appeal to the blue-collar voters who are really uncomfortable with him.

Re: Who's Obama's VP?
I heard Dick Gephardt's name mentioned as a possibility last night. With his experience, it seems like a reasonable choice.
