Obama's rally was a secret meeting of NAMBLA and the OCA!!!

That explains why 75,000 people where there!

The National Association of Men who Bother to learn anything and the Occidental Cousins of Ainsworth were the obvious designers of the rally. There's no way a black man could get 75,000 people in Portland.

Hells Bells!

Why do we need to sticky the thread that shows Talkhard knows nothing about the popular culture of "kids these days?"

I am starting to be persuaded that TH is on to something. Did Obama Benefit from Decemberists?

Re: Obama rally was fueled by free rock concert

The Decemberists have a song called "O Valencia." Seems simple enough. But if you break up the words differently you get: "ovalen CIA." Ovalen in German means "oval." Which is obviously some veiled reference to the Oval Office and the CIA.

My guess is the lyrics to said song are code for some way to overthrow the White House and circumvent the CIA in the process. Probably sending that code back to the Mother Russia.

Now we've only got to find out how Obama is involved before the November elections! It's not too late!

Thanks for the link. One comment at the end of it sort of sums this whole thing up:

It's Portland Oregon.

Of course the band and the weather were part of the attraction of the day.

Ever been to Portland?

I know in black/white Obamaworld, any recognition of the band and/or the weather are considered blasphemy

God. Best laugh of the month reading this thread (thanks TH), I wish I was still taking a political science class; this would be a lot of fun to talk about.

That article is a sarcastic response to the preposterous idea that the band drew the crowd. The writer flat out states what his intentions were towards the end.

See, it was the weather, and the indie music that brought those people in. They just decided, since it was a nice day, to hang around and listen to Obama and chant "Yes We Can" and cheer wildly throughout the speech. Then they went home and voted for him overwhelmingly because Colin Meloy of the mighty Decemberists told them to.

Blogger Ana Marie Cox out-sarcasms me in her response to Knight. She writes, "Obama didn't draw that huge crowd, indie darling gothic twee rockers The Decemberists did. Of course! Why, that band has filled concert venues with as many as 3000 seats on a regular basis and has sold literally thousands of albums! And that's why, of course, Obama is vetting [Lead singer] Colin Meloy for veep. This Obama kid? Ha. What's a quarter of billion dollars in donations next to 3 and a half stars in Pitchfork?"
