Still waiting for YOURSELF to actually quote someone correctly instead of sheepishly filling in what you want the poster to say? Still waiting for YOURSELF to not resort to childish tricks? Still waiting on YOURSELF to use some substance?
Keep on waiting then because it ain't coming this lifetime.

We were talking about the State of Israel, not the national narrative of the Jewish people. If centuries of diaspora, persecution and at times ethnic cleansing didn't wipe out the ideal of a Jewish homeland, then the right of return for Palestinians isn't going to either.

That argument is a red herring without regard to history. Don't forget, the Jews were there first. And what do you expect the reaction of a country to be when it has been in a state of war with a group of countries for 60 years?
|
I don't want to hijack this thread with discussions on Israel. But you can't seriously be suggesting that the forced displacement of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians from their ancestral homeland and subsequent persecution of the remaining population is just a distraction from the larger issue that "the Jews were there first."

Actually, I was waiting for you or someone who is critical of Obama to respond to the same criticisms of McCain. So far, only maxiep has stepped up and attempted a discussion. Your hit-and-run tactics speak loudly.
So are you going to have something intelligent or otherwise of substance to say?

It's Jewish self-government and self-determination. The Right of Return would invalidate both of those concepts.

I believe the Jewish people have a legitimate right to the land of what is now the State of Israel. We don't have to agree.

Doesn't it look like Jesus is about to knock President Bush upside his head? His facial expression even looks like he's taking careful aim (which makes no sense if you believe him to be infallable).
I don't care from which political persuasion you come, that is one funny picture.

Wow, finally. You actually quoted someone correctly. You deserve a pat in the back kid. How else could I respond intelligently to a person who uses childish tricks or does not know how to quote correctly?
What else is there to say? Politicians make gaffes on the campaign trail. Obama has been lauded and hailed as the greatest orator of this generation. McCain has been characterized by Obama's team as senile and too old for the presidency. Guess who has making more mistakes whether it's a gaffe, misstatement, ignorant statement, or a flat out lie? It ain't McCain. LOL

OH SNAP! No you didn't! You dropped the "reading comprehension skills" line. The really smart posters do that. Well played.

Typical tactics from the uber-cons. Totally rip a Democrat for any gaffe, no matter how small, but they do some sort of hand-waving Jedi mind trick to dismiss anything bad about their boys in red.
Hilarious.

The hilarious, and incredibly ironic thing is your post. You're trying to call out the Republicans, when this entire thread is about the Obama supporters doing exactly the vice-versa of what you are describing.
