A train wreck by obama isn't as bad as the nuclear blast that bush and mccain have in their back pocket.

Ah, well, I was hoping I was wrong about what you intended to say, because that's just nonsense. Guess I was right after all.

You've never listened to McCain speak about the strong probablility of using nuclear weapons? Before you vote for a madman, take a little time to read his speaches, examine his votes and the bills he has sponsored.
He's all about nuking Asia. Iraq is a mere stepping stone to his goal.

Re: He needs to turn his back on this church
Ummmm Pfleger was a guest speaker. He is the pastor at a Catholic church in Chicago. I'm not sure how a guest speaker, who works for a different church has anything to do with Obama.

Re: He needs to turn his back on this church
I don't see how this is going to hurt him politically at all. If a minor thing like what Pfleger said is going to sway someone one way or another, they didn't have any intentions of voting for him in the first place. Especially if they're too lazy to look up who Pfleger actually is.

While Pfleger is not nearly as close to Obama as Wright had been, he has donated to the candidate's state Senate and presidential campaigns and sat on a Catholics for Obama committee until a few weeks ago. When Obama was in the Illinois Legislature, he helped land more than $200,000 in state grants for outreach programs run by Pfleger's church.

Aides say Obama has rarely visited St. Sabina, although he cited Pfleger, along with Wright, as one of his spiritual advisers in a 2004 Chicago Sun-Times story. Pfleger helped Obama's Iowa campaign by taking part in a faith forum.

Man, you have a totally tin ear from a political standpoint. Not only does this make Obama look bad for attending a church that seems to constantly have a message of racial divisiveness, which is not going to help him with independents and undecided voters, but this speaker deliberately antagonizes the Clinton camp, whose supporters Obama will need in order to overcome McCain in the fall. There are already polls showing that a large percentage of Hillary's supporters say they will vote for McCain over Obama. This just adds fuel to that fire.

Pfleger, too, issued an apology, saying he was sorry if his comments offended Clinton or anyone else. He did not return several calls for comment on Friday.

Note he didn't apologize for his content of his comments, only if they offended anyone. Translation: I meant what I said.

Re: He needs to turn his back on this church
Overlooked in all of this is the law which requires churches, as non-profit and tax-exempt institutions, to avoid partisan politics. It's pretty clear that the Trinity United Church of Christ has openly supported Obama, both through Rev. Wright's preaching and now this Pfleger guy. Why the IRS isn't stepping in is beyond me, unless they are afraid to appear racist.
Here's an explanation of the IRS policy regarding non-profit organizations:

Sure, in the same way we supported the people of Hiroshima in 1945.

So are you going to complain about the churches that openly support McCain?
