You lose me a little about her reasons being childish. People and politicians abstain all the time when it comes to voting, it's common. She objects to the political process and choose not to be part of it . . . that is the most childish selfish excuse you have heard not to vote?

I've heard people say their vote means nothing so that is why they don't vote. I heard others say it is all politics and it doesn't matter who gets the presidency (they are all the same) and that is why they don't vote. The young voting generation don't seem to give a damn and still other think about voting but don't bother to make the time to vote when the day comes around. There are so many other reasons poeple don't vote I'm surprised my mon's reason is the most childish excuse you have ever heard.
Man, I wouldn't be surprised if our moms knew one another. You explained the factors I tried to do much better.

Yep, it's that kind of attitude that will push the rest of the Blue Dogs right out of the Democratic Party.

Actually you would have those Democratic voters who gave Hillary a 30+ point percentage win in WV and KY, and who helped her carry Indiana and Pennsylvania. You know those bitter people who cling to their guns and their religion...

You shouldn't assume that every Democratic voter shares the same values as someone from Manhattan, San Francisco and Lane County.

Re: Will Clinton supporters "turn coat" and vote Republican?

Never seen "turn coat" used as a verb, but maybe it will catch on . . . Some Clinton supporters will undoubtedly vote for McCain, since he's liberal on a lot of positions, but some other Democrats may vote for McCain because Obama is TOO liberal. It's a crazy election. Who knows how it's going to turn out? Plus, there may be an "October Surprise" or two.
