OT: U.S. Open
Thank God For Tiger Being Back. Sinks a 12-foot put to tie and a playoff birth tomorrow. Some of you may not be into golf, but I used up some vacation time and spent the last three days watching the most exciting Golf I have ever seen. Thanks to DirecTV I have been able to watch every shot and putt by Tiger the last four days and I have never been this excited for Golf. I do sort of think Tiger is pulling a little Paul Pierce and his knee looks fine some moments and terrible at other times, but after two months of being away from the game he proves once again why he is the greatest ever.

Re: OT: U.S. Open
Theres a post about this in the off-topic forum, but it hasn't been realy talked about there.
It was really exciting to see today. I sat and watched the whole coverage of it. I want to watch tomorrow but will miss most of it because of volunteering commitments at the zoo.

Re: OT: U.S. Open
I don't watch golf, or really like it...or am even sure that I consider the majority of golfers athletes, but I watched this. Tiger is the man.

Re: OT: U.S. Open
Tiger's the greatest golfer ever. I don't think that's even an argument anymore. How much more would it take for him to be known as the greatest athlete of all time?
And I don't think he's pulling a Paul Pierce at all. That's partially due to the nature of golf (honesty and calling penalties on yourself). And, because it really depends on what type of shot he's playing (cut or draw) and how hard he swings. He says the cuts hurt, and draws don't so much, hence his knee looking fine at times and hurting at others.

When I think of as athlete its a person who plays multiple sports. To me the best athlete ever is Bo Jackson. Tigar Woods is the best at what he does witch is golf but I don't consider him an athlete.

Re: OT: U.S. Open
His lie in the ruff was so horrible. It was even deeper because of a previous divot. Just to get a reasonable putt was great. That putt was amazing.
BTW Tiger is an athlete. Maybe not all golfers, but Tiger is. He can bench 400lbs

Re: OT: U.S. Open
I watched the whole thing, it was pretty darn good. Rocco thought he had it wrapped up and there comes Tiger out of nowhere. So dominate.

Re: OT: U.S. Open
Tiger is the best golfer of all-time. 'Nuff said. Dude is amazing how clutch he is when needed. Down one stroke with one hole left, then birdies 18.
Amazing. Then wins in a playoff. That guy is a freakin' stud, and I find it hard not to root for him.

Re: OT: U.S. Open
He is clutch. It's not so much the length of his birdie putt on 18 as much as it is that he time and time again makes the pressure shots while on the biggest stage in golf.
There are many quality golfers who wish for that one week they can put it all together and win a US Open . . . that would be the defining point in their career. If Roco had won this US Open he probably would say that was the best golf he has ever played over 4/5 days.
It amazes me that Tiger can routinely put on these kind of performances under the pressure of major tournaments . . . I've never seen domination of a sport the way Tiger dominates golf.

Tiger is Must See TV. I don't think anyone in my office did any work for about a 2 hour stretch in the early afternoon. We were all in the lobby watching the playoff!

Well to anyone who thought Tiger Woods was faking or over exaggerating his knee injury...

His season is over.
