Finally, a flip-flop I can get behind
Well done, Sen. McCain. Finally there's a presidential candidate with a realistic short-term (less than 20 years) energy policy.

Now we just need to get him to call for opening up ANWR.

Re: Finally, a flip-flop I can get behind
4 years ago I saved this article, which lists Bush's flip flops. For example, while running for Congress in May 1978 (he lost), he told a Lubbock newspaper that he was pro-abortion (scroll 1/3 of the way down).

I know my views were much different years ago than they are now. I personally have zero problem with people changing their minds, as long as they're done with new information they've gained and not political expediency. Part of changing your position, IMO, is admitting that your previous position was incorrect, why you changed your mind and what information caused you to do so.

Haven't you heard? McCain is getting divorced from his wife and he and President Bush are getting married in California. They're changing their name to Bush-McCain. They figure if the Democrats are going to call both of them that, they may as well make it official.

Re: Finally, a lie to Americans maxiep can get behind
I know you aren't gullible enough to believe such an obvious lie to get votes.

Did Bush admit anything? Or did he hide his previous position, as he hid his absence from National Guard duty by having state employees destroy the files once he became Governor, and later getting Dan Rather fired for reporting it?
