Re: The "Dark Knight" (Batman) movie ad
I like it.
I looks like a burning building in a city. I mean, not to be insensitive about it -- and i'm sure it's a discussion they had making the film -- but you can't avoid any situation that might have parallels. He's Batman. He flies the Bat Wing. In Gotham. That criteria alone lends itself to the idea that he may smack a building at some point.
But the situations surrounding the two scenarios are drastically different. Commercial Airliners full of Terrorists (Yega, I mean Evil Government Ninja-bots that only Alex Jones knows about) flying directly into a building with the sole purpose of exploding and a super-hero's crime-fighting bat-shaped aircraft smashes into a building in the middle of fighting a notorious villain (or, maybe it isn't the Bat Wing -- maybe the Joker explodes some offices in the shape of the Bat Sign just to **** with Batman).
Either way, I think it's totally different with some similar after affects. But I don't think you should change the way you tell a story based on some overlapping visual ideas.
To me, it's a stunning visual to use for the poster -- I didn't even consider it to be in poor taste.
