Thanks for asking.

That's what I'd do in a similar situation, except maybe for the property in TN part. Are you thinking of moving to TN, or is it an investment?

I bought 10 acres in Dunlap, TN, which is near Chattanooga. I've heard of Roane Mtn., Tennessee. Is that where your ancestors hail from?

I bought the land as an investment, but I could see myself building a house on it and retiring there someday. Here's a picture:

I think so. It's my dads father and grandfather. My great grandfather (who died well before I was born) was born in another R named city/region. The name I don't remember. My grandfather was born in Roane (maybe Mtn?) and moved to Spokane when he was 12.
My great grandfather Henry was a racist man, although not mean spirited (although kind of seems to be contradictory) but my great grandmother Mary Ann was probably a polar opposite to that, in fact, she was a quarter Indian.
My grandmother (on my dads side) was born in Montana, and moved to Spokane at an early age. My moms parents were born in Portland (grandmother) and Leduc Alberta and moved to Portland when he was very young.
My grandmother (on my moms side) actually has family who came over on the Oregon trail, and one who was a Gov of Oregon (before we became a state). So by law, I'm not actually allowed to live outside of the state (at least, thats what she's told me).

Wilson and Roosevelt both accomplished great things for the good of the country and the world.
Bush merely raped and plundered his own country and Iraq. In 8 years of dis-service he has not done a single good thing for this country.

So you are under the delusion that he has captured Bin Laden? He never even tried and has declared many times on the record that he has no intention of doing so.
With the possible exception of the 9/11 attack, the only attacks on our country have been by Bush attacking our rights as Americans by spying on us, our wealth through corporate crime, our welfare by refusing to enforce existing health and safety regulations in the food, medical, drug manufacturing, transportation and other industries, our futures by plunging us into the worst debt the world has ever known.
He is a horrible person and every second he spends out of prison is a mockery of our "just us" system.

I bought 10 acres, which can be divided up any way I want. There is no planning commision in the county.

So that means if you wanted too, you could subdivide them into plots (or something like that)? That's cool.
Personally, I wouldn't want too. But I guess it depends on property taxes, etc. I've dreamed of buying property in Wyoming or Alaska, just to have a place to go during the summer. But my family already has a place, so it's kind of pointless.

Yes, I can do whatever I want with the property, except I can't put a single- or double-wide trailer on it. I could break it up into 10 one-acre lots and turn it into a subdivision, but I doubt I would do that. I'm not sure what I'm going to do at this point, but I'm hoping to make a little money when I sell. Volkswagon just announced they're building a $1 billion manufacturing plant in Chattanooga, and I think that's going to be a real boost to the local economy and to land values.
