Yeah, that's the ticket! Bush doesn't care about protecting this country, fighting terrorism, or the place he will have in history. He doesn't care about our troops, or installing a democracy in the Middle East, or definding freedom. He cares about NONE of that. All he really has ever wanted to do was help his rich friends get richer. That's why he ran for president!!!

Unfortunately, the song is an allegory for the US involvement in the Viet Nam war. We tried to replace the 'evil' communist regime with our own and nothing changed. We were equally unjust in our actions and people died, leaving the speaking character to pray that no more revolutionaries come along to make things any worse. It's pretty much as liberal a message as you can get.
