Kobe: "Our country is the best."

Kobe Bryant apparently made a fatal mistake the other day when asked about the honor of playing for the U.S. Olympic basketball team:

Quote:
In an interview Friday on NBC, the world's most famous basketball player told Chris Collinsworth how he got "goosebumps" when he received his Olympics uniform. "I actually just looked at it for a while. I just held it there and I laid it across my bed and I just stared at it for a few minutes; just because as a kid growing up this is the ultimate, ultimate in basketball." The Los Angeles Laker went on to call the U.S. "the greatest country in the world. It has given us so many great opportunities, and it's just a sense of pride that you have; that you say, 'You know what? Our country is the best.'"

Mr. Collinsworth seemed either startled or impressed by such sentiment, and asked, "Is that a cool thing to say in this day and age? That you love your country, and that you're fighting for the red, white and blue? It seems sort of like a day gone by."

To which Mr. Bryant replied: "No, it's a cool thing for me to say. I feel great about it, and I'm not ashamed to say it. I mean, this is a tremendous honor."
I guess Kobe didn't consult with Michelle Obama before he made those statements. She would have reminded him that there is nothing to be proud of about America, and that this is a "mean country." Poor Kobe. He obviously has no clue.

Meanwhile, you can count me as a Kobe fan.

Re: Lobe: "Our country is the best."

Let's see if Talkhard feels the same about this

Quote:
The questioner noted that he had been educated at Princeton and Harvard and made more than $300,000 a year.

"How can I be proud of my country?" he asked.

"I'll admit to you that it's tough, it's tough in some respects," he said.
Here's the other comment from said person above

Quote:
"I didn't really love America until I was deprived of her company"
Bet that just boils Talkhard's blood, or does it?

You only WISH it ran its course. It's going to come up again in this election, because it represents the thinking of a great many people on the left, including Michelle Obama's husband.

Kobe had the balls to say he actually loves his country and thinks it's great. For that, he's a notch above all the blame-America-first crowd in this country.

Re: Kobe: "Our country is the best."

John Mccain made those comments. So yes let the right wing go ahead and bring back Michelle Obama's comments, maybe they can care to explain why Mccain gets a pass for saying that. Just like Sean Hannity saying he cant believe why people should trust a man who cheated on his wife to be president, unfortunately in his idiocy, he also forgot that in trying to attack John Edwards and the democrats, he was also talking about John Mccain.

Re: Kobe: "Our country is the best."

It's easy to like the system that pays you about $20 million per year. Shame on those poor people for not feeling the same as Kobe. Speaking of Cindy McCain (you want to talk about wives, right, TalkHard?) here's a little info on the Mafia beer magnate. Without her money, McCain wouldn't have won any elections.

http://www.samsedershow.com/node/2470

After we're done with Cindy, let's get to Cheney's wife Lynne, the CIA battleaxe from Hell. She's even worse and needs some examination.

Re: Kobe: "Our country is the best."

Since I'm not a McCain fan and I have lots of problems with him, I fail to see how something he said is a rebuttal to my original post. The point is, Kobe Bryant had the balls to say he belongs to a great country and that he is supremely proud to play for its Olympic basketball team. Period.

I know Barack Obama and his wife are today ashamed of Kobe for his comment, as are most of you on the Left, but you're just going to have to live with it. And it's irrelevant how much money Kobe makes. Even Kobe is smart enough to realize that he's making that money because of the greatness of this country, which rewards excellence in every field.

So all of you who hate Kobe and hate America, just suck it up. Either that or move to some god-forsaken third world country where I'm sure all your dreams will come true.

I guess you're still smarting over Canada's pathetic showing in the Olympics, and you have my sympathy. Canada has been misruled by a serios of leaders and has become a truly mediocre country, so it's got to be tough living there.
