Economic Problems?

Question: Have any of you felt anything from our current economic crisis?

Gas prices are the same, grocery prices the same, my store is doing same as last year in sales, my pay is the same.

My 401k is worth less, but I'm 23 and only have $5,600 in it, so I have time to rebuild. I already owed more on my home then its worth, so that really doesnt bother me, and the time I get it paid off (20 years) it might be worth more then I paid.

So, back to my question, have any of you felt any hardships due to the DOW being down 2,000 points from two weeks ago?

I haven't, which makes me wonder who this bailout is protecting. Is it the wealthy? Is it the administration? Is it the banks? Is it the corporations? One thing it seems its not helping is the everyman.

Re: Economic Problems?

I have noticed that my money is going further with the price of gas falling thats a big help. Other than that I haven't seen any changes in price of food or other commodities.

I work in an industry that's one third vice. I work in the video game industry. When people cant afford to take a 600 dollar vacation they buy a 60 dollar game so at the very least I have job security. In other fronts I have felt the pinch. Food is way up where I live but that opens things up for surplus markets.

I am the poster boy for universal health care. I had insurance through my job for two years and never needed it. For a variety of reasons I had to take a job at lesser pay without insurance. I was just there for four months and during that time I ran up a 4,500 dollar hospital bill.
