Kirk Snyder--what???
He shoots 27% from 3pt range(college 3pt range) and 64% from the foul line. He only averaged 16ppg, and Nevada doesn't exactly play the toughest competition do they? Why is this guy a top 15 pick?

Oppsie, nbadraft.net only had his sophomore stats. His JR stats are better. But he was compared to Doug Christie. Christie is not bad, but don't we need a shooter?

Yeah... without his junior year his shooting stats stink.
All told, he shot 106-342, or 31%. Not great, certainly, but considering his jump shot is considered by many to be the weakest part of his game, not bad.
His junior year he shot 73.1% from the free throw line.
He looks like a guy who's found a good stroke to go with his athletcisim and defense.

He'll be a good pro and I wouldn't mind Portland taking him at #13.

6'7 230 lbs with a 37 inch vert
He has played both guard spots at Nevada. His best atribute to his game is his defense!..think Ruben Patterson.
Pg: Telfair : 6'0"
Sg: Snyder : 6'7"
Sf: Miles : 6'9"
Pf: Randolph : 6'9"
C:
Travis Outlaw
That is one heck of a core to build around.

I will be one dissapointed Blazer fan if we drafted Kirk Snyder. I just don't want another Ruben Patterson type guy with a supposed better J.

Yeah, that would suck to have another guy that brings energy, enthusiasm, hustles on every play, gets the crowd into it, relishes defense, doesn't raise a fuss over limited minutes...

1: how do you know that he wouldn't raise a fuss over limited minutes?
2: how do you know that another player wouldn't bring energy, enthusiasm and get the crowd into the play? And how do you know HE'D do that?
3: this team needs less Ruben Pattersons and more Shooters.

I think thats an unfair comparison
I think that the comparison to Ruben Patterson is totally off base. Snyder is a much smarter player then Ruben will ever be, he is agressive, and he can hit the J, just not as consistent as some people like. He is an excellent defender and capable of carrying a team on his back. 16 ppg in college is good. Patrick Ewing averaged 12 pts a game his senior year. Most scouts feel his jumper will come around, he has the right form.

Hap, you missed the point of my sarcastic post by a mile... I'm not saying anything about what Snyder is or will be. Just responding to the comment that it would suck to have an improved version of Ruben, which is hardly an unsettling thought.
