NY Post: Telfair will be a Blazer

Quote:
"I would love to play there," Telfair said. "[Cheeks] understands point guards and he'll have a big influence on me. I can learn so much from him."

That's nice to hear...

Nice to hear that he's not a Steve Francis or Kobe type who will be a big jerk to get himself into a certain situation.

Francis did the same thing in Vancouver. What a nut!

It was obvious from the ESPN draft show last night that if the Blazers take Telfair at #13, they're going to be ridiculed by their cast of "experts". But it seems it's often the Blazer picks that are given mixed or even unfavorable reviews that are the ones that turn out the best. (see O'Neal or Randolph vs. Woods). It seems the chances are less than 50/50, but given that probably half of the players chosen in the 1st round will be mediocre or bust, the Blazers are going to make sure they take the guy at 13 that has the highest probability of helping them down the road regardless of where the consensus has that player going...

I am still going to predict there will be a lot of big men chosen ahead of us, and we may end up getting a better gurd than we had hoped for.

We will then scramble to get a pick between 14-23.... maybe Atlanta's #17 to take Telfair

I am thinking Chicago will take Luke at #7

That's what everyone is saying is going to happen, but watch out, Luol Deng could slip to Chicago at 7, and they could end up getting both Gordon and Deng, which would be a great draft for Chicago. I'm predicting Deng slips to 7, and Jackson goes 9 to Philly.
