Until learning more about the guy we got (I'm not even going to try spelling his name yet), I sort of thought it was too unfair to us, actually. NJ got a nice chunk of salary relief by dumping the guaranteed salary of a 1st rounder and getting $3M to pad their pockets, and we got a guy I've never heard of that doesn't fill a position of need... The draft pick is only of value if the guy pans out (which sounds more promising now), whereas the cash is highly valuable to a team struggling financially.

Sort of a win-win, I suppose.
