As Of Right Now

This what the Blazers line-up looks right now. We will probably sign Darius Miles. Khryapa and Telfair will be the only rookies that play this year. Ha will most likely play overseas along with Monia.

PG-Damon Stoudamire-Sebastian Telfair
SG-Derek Anderson-Qyntel Woods
SF-Darius Miles-Ruben Patterson-Viktor Khryapa
PF-Zach Randolph-Shareef Abdur-Rahim
C-Theo Ratliff-Dale Davis-Vladimar Stephania

I.R.-PG-Dan Dickau
SF-Travis Outlaw
C- Ha Seung-Jin?(If there is a roster spot open)

Qyntel Woods is really a SF but we slide him behind Derek as of right now because he can play the 2 also. John Nash says he will try and trade Abdur-Rahim but if all the offers are as bad as the Kerry Kittles, Aaron Williams trade then expect Abdur-Rahim to remain a Blazer. He can still be traded anytime before the trade deadline. The Blazers top need is a G with their MLE. It is interesting, the Blazers have 5 SF's but only one SG.

I think the main goal with Shareef when he was traded to Portland was just to play to next season and let him go off the books and Theo also

It sure would be hard to just watch SAR walk away with no compensation.

I know, but it would clear cap room. I haven't looked at who will be on the FA market next year, but it looks like the Blazers will have some flexibility to sign a marquee guy (s) next off season if their roster stays the same. Anybody know who is FA next year?

If they sign Miles, they won't have much cap room next off-season...and to get even that cap room, they have to renounce SAR, Stoudamire and Ratliff. Does Portland want to get rid of Ratliff?

But anyway, re-signing Miles would mean not enough to go after a marquee free agent.

I'm not sure I buy that. If cap space was the #1 goal all along, they would have just let Rasheed's contract expire this summer rather than take on another season worth of salary.
