Nedzad Sinanovic.....
....will be playing on our summer league team.
Would someone (again) give me the skinny on this kid? Is he still claimed to be all that? Isn't he the one that the Blazers drafted with a sneak pick, so to speak - that his agent attempted to hide him, then "sell" him to the highest bidder on the open marketplace as a FA?
What's the history, and is it even pertinent anymore?
Thanks!

Only problem was when he was drafted he only had 4 months of basketball expierience....let me repeat 4 MONTHS.
So he is considered athletic but has basuically no expierience, but was at the time picking the game up very easily and quikly.

From what I read he has minimal experience, good athleticism and learns quickly. Beyond that, it's anybody's quess he'll be an NBA player. He was, afterall, a low second round pick.

Pepinster, a town close to the city of Verviers, may be better known for a nearby Formula 1 racetrack, Spa-Francorchamps, but another sport gets motors running there, too: basketball. Pepinster's crowd is one of the hottest in Belgium, and their devotion stands to increase now that ULEB Cup teams from all over Europe are coming to town. None of which should be so surprising: After all, Pepinster is the oldest first-division basketball team in Belgium, founded in 1938. In all that time, Pepinster's best result came last season, when it reached the Belgian League playoff finals, only to get swept by national superpower Charleroi. But even though it has never won a trophy, Pepinster has been good enough to participate in 10 previous European competitions, so its ULEB Cup opponents should not take this team lightly. Behind team leaders Damir Milacic at point guard and Darius Hall at center, Pepinster has several players who plan to make sure they and their team are known throughout Europe before long.

Hopefully Hall moves on to bigger and better things. Ned needs more time! 3 minutes a game over 6 games is not good enough.

Last season's success reflects the hard work put in since the arrival of coach Niksa Bavcevic from Croatia in 1999. Named "coach of the year" for 2002-03, Bavcevic is back on the bench. It could not be otherwise for a man who, as one of the first thing he did for the club, created a training school in 2000 where the best young players of the region learn basketball every day. It already is recognized as one of the best training programs in Belgium, and despite a low budget, has produced several young talents for Pepinster.
|
This is wonderful. Sounds like a great coach and team to be a part of. If there's something hidden within Ned, they'll bring it out.

Last, but certainly not least, Pepinster was able to sign an NBA draftee, young talented Bosnian center Nedzad Sinanovic (220, 20), chosen 54th by the Portland Trailblazers last summer despite never having played outside of the second division in Bosnia-Herzegovina. If Sinanovic adapts, Pepinster will have size to compete down low with any team it faces.

Can't wait to see if he can manage more than 6 total minutes in this RMR.
