Brian Cardinal : Yet, another overpaid FA
6 year $39 million for Brian Frickin Cardinal?!
What's up with GMs lately? Nash, though hasn't done much this summer is still one of the "sane" GMs out there. Lets just hope he dosn't offer Miles the max, hey...from what has been goin on this past week, it wouldn't be suprising
I still can't believe Memphis used their whole MLE on Cardinal

Money wise its not a bad deal, I just have a problem with the longevity of it. He is a great bench player. He leaves it all on the floor. He scraps for loose balls. Hell the dude wears KNEE PADS! You know someone is brining it if he's got the knee pads on! Not too mention he can knock down that trey for you. He is one of those guys that gets under another players' skin but plays under control unlike say a Rodman. I mean he is a guy that you dislike a ton on someone else's team, but would GLADLY accept on your team. Jerry West obviously knows what he is doing. This money ain't gonna stop him from hustling.

He is a great pick up for the Grizzlies. Hubie Brown gets a throwback palyer. I really like this move. This move is 10X better then the stupid Jazz Okur signing.

Wow... that's some serious cabbage.
I am interested to know how much he even ends up playing. He got minutes on a bad, injury-ravaged Warriors team, but the Grizzlies are deep and pretty darn good.
Jerry West is more often right than wrong, but I think Cardinal will end up anchoring the end of the bench with Dahntay Jones and Troy Bell.

If Brian Cardinal gets 6.5 mill/year, what are we going to have to pay to keep Miles?

Did they overpay..yes, but this kid has heart. I wish Portland had him as a backup.

This move is for one thing only, for the griz to get more talent so that they can consolidate some by sending out several good players for one great one, and still have a decent bench after that. I would bet money that the griz are currently trying very hard to send out some of the starters from last year for one player + fillers. Gasol needs another great player, because he is a perfect second fiddle, but not a go to guy.
I big trades a brewing for later in the summer.

"Kid" he's 28. But he does play with a lot of heart, but he's not worth the MLE, he's worth about half that.
Just my $0.02

I have to admit, I really liked Brian Cardinal when he played at Purdue - but this is way too much money for a guy who wasn't even a star in the Big Ten.
