only chance to make the Playoffs
Get the Trader Bob.
When Bob is in Seattle, He built a team which won 55 games for 6 consecutive years.
When Bob is in Portland, Blazers always make the P.
No B, No P.

Seattle's only championship AND Portland's only championship came while Bob was in diapers, not while he was GM.
Nice theory though.

Bob's actually doing his best to keep the string alive in another sport... the Seahawks are looking to return to the playoffs this year.
Both Seattle and Portland have been worse since he's left, no question, but it's WAY WAY WAY too early to say Nash and Patterson can't get things turned around in Portland. They're fighting a war with multiple fronts and financial and PR considerations are, unfortunately, their focus at present.

Trader Bob turned the Sonics around immediately. He turned the Blazers to title contender in a couple of years.
Nash doesn't know the trade.

First of all, it took longer than a couple of years. (Hired in 1995. Bounced in first round until 1999 when they finally reached the Western Conference Finals)
Second of all, has it been 'a couple' of years for Nash yet? Nope.
Third of all, Nash is the one with a championship ring that he got when he was GM of the 76'ers back in the 80's. Where's Bob's ring at?

With Nash, is there any chance to make the p this coming season?

I've consistently been willing to give Nash time. I think that he's made some good moves (the Miles deal), some bad moves (the Bonzi trade) and several deals that are still big question marks but could work out great (the Rasheed trade, drafting Telfair).
I'm not happy that we were in the lottery, and I expect us to be there again this time next year, but I'm willing to acknowledge that the franchise has different priorities than I do for the team, and am hoping that Nash can pull something out to improve the team and make us more competitive this year.

no. there's no chance. none whatsoever. Because John Nash and Steve Patterson are just screwing up this team. Infact, they're selling off the goods so Paul Allen can move the team!
eesh...lets wait till the season starts before we prognosticate things..
Anyone remember where *everyone* thought Utah would finish?

Wasn't TB's first move signing Chris Dudley to a big deal, and trading Clyde Drexler for Otis Thorpe?
